School Discipline Policy
Minor disruptions: Failure to meet school expectations by a teacher/staff member may include but not limited to:
Some Minor Offenses/Infractions
Disobedience
Uncooperative behavior
Cutting class
Sleeping in class
Failure to bring materials
Not completing homework
Eating/drinking in class
Failure to participate in class
Refusing to sit in assigned seat
Dress code violation
Class disruption
Chewing gum
Loud/unruly voice/behavior
Throwing objects
Profanity/abusive language
Tardy (excessive unexcused tardiness)
Possession of inappropriate articles (cards,
comic books, games, etc.)

The discipline policy for minor infractions states:
• 1st Infraction – the student will receive a minor infraction intervention/consequence (see minor infraction form) deemed appropriate for behavior exhibited, and a parent will be notified.
• 2nd Infraction – the student will be issued a minor infraction intervention/consequence deemed appropriate for behavior exhibited (see minor infraction form), and a parent will be notified.
• 3rd Infraction – the students will be issued a minor infraction intervention/consequence deemed appropriate for behavior exhibited (see minor infraction form), and a parent will be notified. A major behavior referral issued and sent to an administrator to be handled in a manner deemed appropriate in discipline actions and definitions.
Major disruptions: Failure to meet school expectations by a teacher/staff member may include but not limited to:
1. Dispositions given for each offense are maximums.
2. Except in offenses which the School Board has taken the position of “ZERO TOLERANCE,” administrators
may assign or recommend lesser punishments according to their determination of the nature and
circumstances of the offense.
BUS RULES AND REGULATIONS
• Students must be on time at the designated stop and behave according to school rules.
• Students must obey the driver promptly and cheerfully, showing no hesitation.
• Help to keep the bus clean and sanitary. Anyone who purposely damages any part of the bus will be
required to pay for said damages.
• Avoid causing trouble by teasing, pulling hair, scuffling, or using profane or obscene/abusive language.
• Arms and hands must be kept inside the bus at all times. If assigned to a seat by a driver, remain in that seat until told otherwise by the driver.
• Loud talking will not be tolerated. No eating or drinking on the bus.
• Permission must be received from the driver before opening/closing the windows.
• No student is to ride another bus or be dropped off at a different stop. If a student’s address changes, a bus request must be submitted to the front office.

2. Permanent suspension for the school year from all bus transportation will be enforced after notifying parent/guardian.
*Major offenses will result in more severe punishment such as suspension/expulsion from school. Any misbehavior on the bus, walking to or from the bus stop, or going to or returning from school may result in temporary or permanent loss of bus riding privileges. In this case, transportation to and from school becomes the responsibility of the parent/guardian. Bus transportation is provided by the St. Landry Parish School Board.
