The St. Landry Parish Exceptional Student Services Department provides pupil appraisal services for all students in St. Landry Parish Schools. Pupil appraisal services are an integral part of the total instructional program of a school system. The purpose is to assist students who have learning problems, adjustment problems, or other special needs by providing services to students, parents, teachers, and other school personnel.

Services are also provided to infants and toddlers in St. Landry Parish through the Pupil Appraisal Center. Other services provided by this department include Homebound Education, Gifted Education, and Adaptive Physical Education. Services are also provided for the hard of hearing, visually impaired, and other disabling conditions.
