Team MACA Is Ready!
Our teachers’ last day before students return was a fun one! We headed to the Escape Room for some team building—and things got pretty competitive!
The team with the fastest time earned bragging rights for the year AND a trophy to proudly display in their classroom.
And the winners are… Team MACA Queens! Congratulations to Mrs. R. Joubert, Miss A. Joubert, Mrs. Jolivette-Wilson, Mrs. Kelly, Mrs. Brown, and Mrs. Leger!
It was a great day of teamwork, laughter, and a little friendly competition. Now, Team MACA is officially ready to welcome our students back to campus tomorrow!
The MACA family is ecstatic about welcoming our students to school tomorrow and Friday. We are sending a few reminders to ensure a positive start to the school year.
1. Doors open at 7 am and the first bell rings at 7:20. The tardy bell rings at 7:25.
2. Please wear your uniform, including your ID cards if you have them.
3. Clear water bottles and Clear/Mesh Book Bags are required.
4. Staggered Entry: Students with last names starting with A-I come tomorrow (Thursday, August 13). Students with last names starting with J-Z come Friday, August 14. All students come Monday, August 17.
5. Dismissal times: Bus Riders-2:30; Car Riders, Walkers, and Drivers-2:33. All students need to be picked up by no later than2:45.

An Opelousas native with 22 years of experience in education, Mrs. Warren joins MACA after serving as Principal at Grand Coteau Elementary and Central Middle School. Throughout her career, her focus has remained the same: creating a supportive environment where both students and teachers can excel. At MACA, she aims to empower staff and educate students academically, socially, and emotionally.
Outside of school, Mrs. Warren and her husband, Aubrey, are proud parents to three sons. Supported by her family, she is deeply passionate about giving back to the community of St. Landry Parish.

MACA would like to recognize our JAG specialist, Carmen Leger, and her JAG students for being recognized at the JAG EDGE Awards with a National Network Award. This award recognizes the highest-achieving states, regions, and programs that exceed all five of Jobs for America's Graduates National performance metrics aimed at graduation, employment, and connectivity.

We are a little under a month away from the start of the 2026-2027 School Year. We are so excited to welcome everyone back. This graphic is a guide for parents when buying school uniforms. Spirit wear is allowed every Friday. MACA sweatpants bought from the online spirit store can be worn any day when the temperature is below 50 degrees. You can purchase uniform shirts with the MACA logo from Splash in Opelousas. Spirit wear can be ordered through the following link. Round 1 of spirit wear ends on July 20.
